Snacks and drinks

Delicious snacks and drinks are available at many different spots across the festival site. All food sold on the festival site is served in biodegradable packaging. This helps prevent plastic from blowing into the sea.

Drinking from returnable cups

Are you ordering a drink at the bar? If so, you’ll be served in a cup with a deposit. This means you pay for your drink and for the cup as well. If you then order another drink, you hand in your used cup and receive a clean one in return. At the end of the day, you can hand your cup in at the bar. The deposit will then be refunded to your bank account. Or you can take the cup home with you. There are four designs, each featuring a different tall ship – so start collecting!

Everyone is welcome

Whether you’re rich or poor, able-bodied or disabled, or whatever your background, everyone is welcome at Sail Harlingen.

People with disabilities

We aim to be accessible to everyone. The event site is also wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately
It is not possible to board all ships in a wheelchair. People with disabilities can park in a designated car park next to the event site upon presentation of their disabled parking permit and a valid Harlingen Sail parking permit. We also have a special
a wheelchair-accessible area from which anyone in a wheelchair can get a good view of the performances on the main stage.

A low-stimulus hour

For anyone who is sensitive to stimuli, the elderly and people with disabilities, we have a special low-stimulus hour. On Sunday morning, 5 July, the event site will be open from 10.00 am, an hour before the main influx of visitors. This will allow you to admire all the beautiful tall ships in relative peace and quiet.
