The hull of the Aglaia was built in Stockholm following the example of the famous Norwegian lifeboats of the last century. The hull was sold to a buyer from Hamburg who wanted to finish the ship himself. After 15 years of work, he died. It took his sons four years to sell the unfinished ship. In June 1997, Aglaia was launched for the first time. During the Tall Ships Races in 2022, she came to Harlingen for the first time.
