The pilot boat Eems01 was built between 1997 and 2004 by the Mens & Werk Foundation as a replica of another pilot boat that operated on the Eems in the late 19th century. The vessel was created to preserve the maritime history of Delfzijl. It was launched in 2004, and since then the vessel has been regularly used to take guests on cruises.
