De Holland was built in 1951 as a vessel for the Doeksen Shipping Company on Terschelling. ‘Ready and Awaunting’ (PESK) – that was the motto the Holland stood for. This year, the Holland is celebrating its 75th anniversary. It is one of the oldest steel motor vessels still in service in the world and is therefore a symbol of Dutch maritime history.
