The TX33 was built in 1918 for fishing in the Wadden Sea and the North Sea. Initially, the vessel was used for fishing off Texel; after 1937, it was sold to Ouddorp under the name OD4 and to IJmuiden under the name IJM23. The vessel has been restored several times since then, following which the Stichting Behoud Blazer TX33 (Foundation for the Preservation of the Blazer TX33) was established in 2003. This foundation took charge of the restoration and ensured that the vessel was relaunched in 2007.
