Cruise in Company – Enkhuizen

Summer Festival: ‘De Slach om Holland/ Sail Enkhuizen!’ The city of Enkhuizen organises the Slach om Holland [battle for Holland] festival with loads of nautical activities on and off shore. Visiting Cruise in Company ships will be welcomed with a ‘Sail in’.
One of the activities is a sail race with 20 metre skûtsje, sailed off the Enkhuizen coast. Skutsjes are flat bottemed sail barges, often over a century old, rigged for sail races and sailed with a dedication bordering fanaticism (capsizes are not uncommon). There will be games for children, a nautical market, RIB experience, Abseiling from the ‘Drom’ a 16th century defence tower and other activities.

• Sunday:  ‘Sail In’ with the tall-ships from Harlingen! Skûtsjes and other ships sail towards the ships and bring them in!
• Sunday afternoon: guided tours on the ships.
• Monday morning: Captains breakfast. Enkhuizers get the opportunity to romantically have breakfast on the aft deck of the visiting ships (all in consultation with the ships).
